Best plants for winter interest for a small garden

Updated: Mar 1, 2019

Viburnum tinus 'Gwenllian' -

is a bushy medium-sized evergreen shrub with dark green, ovate leaves and compact clusters of white flowers opening in late winter from reddish buds, and followed by blue berries.

Green leaves all year around

Lovely pink buds in Autumn

White flowers in Winter followed by blue berries in Spring

This bushy shrub will create a dense evergreen hedge that will attract pollinating insects to your garden.

Forget annoyingly fast growing Privet. Height and spread of Gwenllian is approximately 1.5-2.5 m. in 10-20 years. Very compact shrub. Requires little or no pruning. Just prune down any over-vigorous shoots which spoil the natural rounded shape of an established plant in early summer.

Low maintenance and easy to grow - a perfect addition to any low maintenance garden
